About Brela
"Brela are the springs of beauty" - "with your head in the shade, your belly in the sun, and your feet in the sea (all at once)." Thanks to dense pine forests, beautiful beaches, crystal-clear sea, freshwater springs, Brela has been known for decades as one of the most attractive tourist spots in Dalmatia.
Brela is renowned for its exceptionally beautiful and dense pine forests situated directly by stunning pebble beaches, a romantic and well-maintained seaside promenade, and widely recognized restaurants offering seafood specialties.
Apart from swimming, Brela also offers various sports and recreational opportunities: tennis, bocce, mini-golf, table tennis, and water sports. Restaurants offer specialties of local and international cuisine. During the season, cultural and entertainment events are held, and excursions are organized.
Brela is located about 15 kilometers northwest of Makarska. Due to dense pine forests, long sandy beaches, and freshwater springs, Brela has been a key player in the tourism of the Makarska Riviera for decades.
The settlement consists of the old part (Brela) above and below the road (Magistrala) on the hill and the new part located by the coast (Jakiruša, Podcrkavlje, Stomarica, Ščit, Podrače, Soline).
In Brela, forests and beaches are bathed in brilliant sunlight. A breeze carries the scent of the sea, while the air is filled with the aroma of Mediterranean herbs. The cries of seagulls blend with birdsong. In 1986, Brela was crowned "Champion of the Adriatic" for its significant achievements in tourism. The town is situated on the coast between Mount Biokovo and the island of Brač. Brela is unique in its beauty, with stunning beaches, pine forests, crystal-clear blue sea, Mediterranean climate, sports facilities, a marina, ecological surroundings, and relaxing peace. Top-quality service in luxury hotels and private accommodation guarantees an unforgettable vacation.
Brela... crystal-clear sea, sunshine... everything for enjoyment. Waves rushing to golden beaches, thousands of pine needles gently falling to the ground...
Natural heritage: The oak in Soline, a natural monument over a thousand years old with a massive crown; Mount Biokovo – a nature park with several horticultural monuments (wild vegetation, geomorphological, and botanical sites), panoramic views – a marvelous and stunning gem.
